Tag 1

I got up at 4:15 am San Diego time and was eventually on the plane to JFK by 6:45 am. At JFK I wandered around and found yet another book, and charged my useless cellphone.

Chillin in the airport
After waiting for 3 hours in JFK, I finally got on the plane where we promptly waited 1.5 more hours on the tarmac. I sat next to two old ladies who only spoke German and behind a little German kid who enjoyed throwing various stuffed animals at me when his mom was going to the bathroom. Eventually I arrived in Berlin about an hour or so late. The passport guy asked if Adam Sandler was my brother and I said no, he's my cousin. The luggage came and I found Ashley outside the customs area.

Eventually we made it to the Bahnhof (train station) and took a train to Spandau, and then took an ICE (fastest type of train) to Göttingen.

Göttingen Universität Library

Once we got to Göttingen, Ashley had to go to class so we walked there and I wandered around for an hour and a half while she learned things. There was a pink bicycle fixed to a light post but I didn't have mein Kamera. We got some groceries after her class and starting walking back. We walked through the botanical gardens and got locked in so we went over a rail and through a café to freedom. Eventually we made our way back to her dorm.

Ashleys Raum

The German soccer team was playing the Austrian team in the Euro 2008 tournament, and we watched the game in her common room with her fellow dorm mates. Germany won 1-0.
